Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
014 - Silly math continues to rule the day on the Fantasy Page. Once again, there were several events where I picked matches, can see in the history that the picks were recorded, but received no credit when looking at the results. I see there were a couple events this weekend where nobody got any credit for their picks. I am not sure if that makes me feel better or worse, but that is a lot of time going unacknowledged by the site.
The one event that confuses me most from the past weekend is the Swiss Cup in Basel.
When looking at the event standings, I got no credit for any of my picks. When checking the history, however, I made sixty-eight picks for this event alone. That is frustrating in its own right. What struck me, though, is that according to the standings, nobody made more than forty-six picks for that event. I know I am obsessive about making my picks, but I cannot imagine I made more than twenty picks than everybody else in this case.
On a related note, my obsessive picking has been greatly aided by Fantasy Curling Bot. I do not think I missed many picks this past week and I can credit these notifications. One just has to look at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic.
I won this event by two correct selections. This is solely due to me being credited with making more selections than anybody else. There is no way of knowing that these numbers are correct, but I am confident that few people are making more picks than I am.
As a closing thought, The World Curling Tour moving back to Europe has introduced a new challenge. Saturday night / Sunday morning saw a number of picks posted to the site and played all while I was asleep. 2:30am matches were posted at 11:00pm, and one 2:00am match was posted at 1:00am.
Actually, I was awake during that period. It turns out, though, that while holding a screaming two-month-old, checking in on my fantasy curling picks never crossed my mind.
